Western Balkans in the EU as soon as possible

The Managing Board of the Chamber Investment Forum (CIF), after a substantial debate on the current events in the Western Balkans countries, adopted conclusions that are of importance to each country separately, but also to the region as a whole. The meeting was held within the “Synergy – a key to the regional success” conference, organized in Budva, Montenegro.

The CIF President, Marko Čadež, in a statement for the media after the CIF MB meeting, pointed out that just a few days after the recommendation by “Eurochambres” (representative and a voice of 21 million companies around Europe), the European Commission reached a decision not to open negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania and not to take steps related to the visa liberalization for the Kosovo citizens. He added that the CIF, as an association of the regional chambers, encourages the political leaders to listen to the voice of their economy, and the EU business community has clearly divulged that the Western Balkans is already a part of the European economy structure – facts that the CIF is attempting to explain to all decision-makers from the EU countries, as well as to the Commission in Brussels… .
