The public call of the Commodity Reserve Agency for the procurement of the domestic wheat for the needs of the commodity reserves will last until August 15. The public call foresees a buyout of a total amount of 13.000 tons of domestic wheat. More precisely, 10 lots of 100 tons have been asked for and 3 lots with 4.000 wheat each. After the end of the public call, the millers will be able to offer the wheat bought from the domestic producers to the Commodity Reserve Agency.

This measure originated as a proposal of the meetings held with the farmers and millers up to now, before the beginning of the harvest and will contribute tot he increase of the buyout of domestic wheat, as well as achieving a higher buyout price, as announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy.

At the same time, the Ministry reviews the options for possible intervention changes of the Program for direct payments 2018, in the gradual mode of subsidizing the agriculture crops, first and foremost the wheat.

 The harvest of the wheat started these days and the teams of the Ministry monitor the yields and the quality on the basis of which the production price of the wheat for this year will be announced. MAFWE will fulfil its obligation not only when it comes to the wheat, but for the other agricultural crops as well. The buyout price of the barley reached 9 denars per kilogram.
