The national conference on: "Using the biomass as a renewable source of energy in the bioenergetic villages and small communities" took place in Kichevo and was organized within the Project "Bioenergetic Villages (Bio Vill)- Increase of the breakthrough of a sustainable bioenergy on the market", financed by the European Union Program for research and innovations "Horizont 2020" (19.12.2018).

The mayor of the Municipality of Kichevo, Fatmir Dehari, the president of the Regional Chamber in Kichevo, Igor Sokoloski, large number of representatives of the institutions, the business sector, secondary and elementary schools and nongovernmental organizations that contribute to the realization of the Project attended the conference.
Natasha Markovska of "SDEWES"- Skopje, highlighted the objective of the Project, which is the support of the development of the regional concepts for bioenergy, as well as founding bioenergetic villages using the experiences of the European countries.
The mayor of the Municipality of Kichevo, Fatmir Dehari, emphasized the significance of the Project for the preservation of the environment via renewable sources of energy and for a greater local economic development.
Vasil Bozikaliev had an address about the Project "Bioenergetic villages (Bio Vill)" and Ljupcho Dimov also had a presentation on "A concept of a bioenergetic community in Kichevo".
Representatives of the World Bank presented the Project of EBRD for the regional energy efficiency program (REEP) for Western Balkans that provides technical assistance to the municipalities in their preparation of ESCO projects for tenders that are fully financed by the EU funds and the possibilities for financing projects were also presented.

The interested stakeholders will be able to get information about the Project in the Regional Chamber in Kichevo, as a collaborator on the Project. The project is with a duration of three years, starting from March 2016 until February 2019 and is financed by the European Program "Horizont 2020".
Representatives of companies gave presentations on energy efficient networks of central heating and cooling and heating system based on biomass and utility waste, as well as on the alternative economic development of the region of Kichevo- possibilities and challenges.
According to the Project, in Kichevo three schools and one kindergarten will be initially heated with wood shavings, and in the second stage of the Project it will extend to the residential part of the neighborhood.
